This was a sensitive restoration project due to its history and location CRBL's conservation team had to strip down the wallhead chimney and a large portion of the gable wall due to a lack of maintenance to the building. CRBL had to replace stone units replicating the stone to match the existing height and dimensions. We also had to use second hand rubble to achieve a more subtle and sympathetic repair. The chimney was replaced with new quoin stones, new chimney copes and new chimney cans. The whole gable wall was re-pointed in a traditional lime mix.

CRBL had to work hand in hand with City of Edinburgh Council and Edinburgh world heritage due to the sensitivity of the project.
